I guess my post answered a slightly different question from "which verbs are have rank _1"? Most of the primitives mentioned wouldn't work if they were truly "_1 (except ,.). The reason is most primitives mentioned are concerned with treating their input(s) as a list of its items (so they apply to the list in toto, not to individual items).
