I agree, that would be good info to have. I wish I had that knowledge before taking 4 years to finally get 2 bumpers! But I am happy with what I have, and here's what I've learned. When I asked this vendor about whose bumper is good & who isn't , he couldn't (or wouldn't) give me a real answer. Only that he never dealt with the chinsy guys, etc. His bumpers come (to the shows, anyway) with plain brown corrugated wrapping with no labels. He also carries a lot of Goodmark hoods, fenders, etc, but I don't know if they also make the bumpers. Maybe one of our list members / parts suppliers might know more? I got both bumpers from D & R Classic Automotive of Warrenville, IL (800) 472-6952. They regularly have a 2-page ad in Super Chevy - page 40-41 in the March issue. The guy I've talked to several different times says he is the owner - he is who told me about the 2 bumper manufacturers. D & R makes it to some of the upper midwest swap meets - I got one bumper from him in Iola, WI in July, and the other in Jefferson, WI at the Fall show. He did tell me they go to some of the Illinois shows, but I've never been to any of those. BTW, all of this was after getting totally jerked around by CARS from Michigan. They promised ahead of time to bring me a front and rear bumper to look over. We even agreed on a price. Showtime came, and they didn't have either bumper with them. No record of the deal we made, and no, the guy I had talked to didn't make the trip to WI. No '66 bumpers available yet, they said - not even in production yet. And no attempt to apologize or follow up...I was ticked. But it ended up that D&R had swap spaces just down the line from ours at this same swap meet, they had a great looking '66 back bumper, and it was $40.00 less than CARS was going to charge me! A year later I bought the front from them. And I haven't bought anything from CARS since! Sorry I don't have any more info. I guess like everythig else in this repro parts thread, do your homework before buying. This list sure is a good place to do homework!
