I bought a back repro bumper for my '66 SS convertible a couple of years
ago. It looks great and fits just fine. Late this past fall, I bought a new
repro front bumper from the same vendor. He tells me there are two major
players in the repro bumper manufacturing business - one decent and one poor
quality. And of course he only carries the better quality ones. So does
everybody else. Just ask them...

I have not mounted the front bumper yet. It got cold here in Wisconsin
before I got the old one completely off. I can tell you it looks good, and
seems to be about the same weight and guage of steel as the originals.

I looked for a few years for decent original bumpers, and finally gave up.
But based on my experience, I strongly reccomend making arrangements ahead
of time for a vendor to bring your needed bumper to a show or swap meet, and
look it over carefully before buying. I've seen some pretty poor examples
displayed on their racks - now maybe they were beat up from hauling from
show to show, but if I got one of those in the mail, I'd be very unhappy.
Looking it over does not guarentee a good fit, but at least you'll know if
it looks good. And you'll save on shipping charges.
