Well, I just bought repro bumpers for my own 69 El Camino. They look great,
but I haven't tried to mount them yet. I'll let you guys know how it goes.
Any chance the brackets were bent, or could have been adjusted with washers
or something like that? A friend of mine just put repro bumpers on his '70
SS clone and the car looks fantastic!

I wonder where Ausley's buys their bumpers...

This goes back to a thread some time ago about repro bumper. I finally got
around to installing a repro front bumper for my '71 Malibu that I bought
from Ausley's, and the fit was definitely off. It was shifted 3/16" to the
left as you look at the car from the front. There is no adjustment for a
bumper whose holds are drilled 3/16" too far to the right. Although it fits
on the car, the shift is noticable, so I'm not completely happy with the
bumper, but it's too much trouble to return.
