Probably has to do with the size of the tires.  You've got some pretty little tires on there that's probably throwing off that method........just a thought.

Nope, Chevrolet never offered a gear ratio that low.  They started around 2.56 I think.  The most popular ratios are 2.73, 3.08, 3.23, 3.31, 3.55, 3.73
