All my dogs have their dew claws. Are they supposed to be removed?? -em J ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ From: [email protected] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Saturday, August 25, 2007 11:12 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [PHISHING]: [Chihuahuas] Bouncing Thanks, Mel. As I mentioned in a previous post, Cesar goes in Monday to be neutered, so, I thought I would ask about having his dew claws removed. For some reason Cesar's dew claws were never removed and he has one on each of his front and hind legs. Recently, I noticed that they sometimes get caught up in his blanket, so I though maybe it would be wise to have them removed. I only talked to the vet tech but she said it is much more involved than just clipping, that it is surgery, like removing a toe, painful, with loss of blood. She said she would mention it to the vet but that her suggestion was to leave them alone. Comments?
