Gloria I wish someone would resurrect the posting on tthe lady whose vet
inadvertantly removed the front dew claw and all her problems and worse HIS
PAIN after. Please just keep them trimmed and forget removing them or if you
must do?it wait. Its bad enough he'll be recovering from the fact his testicles
have been removed. I am on a mission to find those posts for you. If I do I
will send directly to you and you can re-post what you like. Best of luck to
him.

do you think if you kept his toe nails on his dewclaws clipped down really
short they'd still snag on stuff?? I dont think i'd have an adults dewclaws
removed because it is a little more painful, unless having the dewclaw was
causing pain.. like getting caught up in stuff and causing injuries to that
toe.? all my chis have dew claws, but theyre the kind that are close into their
legs, i've seen some that seem to dangle more... anyone know what i mean?

thats just my personal opinion obviously... i guess we can be glad theyre not
great pyranese, they have 2 dewclaws on each foot! lol

Thanks, Mel.? As I mentioned in a previous post, Cesar goes in Monday to be
neutered, so, I thought I would ask about having his dew claws removed.? For
some reason Cesar's dew claws were never removed and he has one on each of his
front and hind legs.? Recently, I noticed that they sometimes get caught up in
his blanket, so I though maybe it would be?wise to have them removed.? I only
talked to the vet tech but she said it is much more involved than just
clipping, that it is surgery, like removing a toe, painful, with loss of
blood.? She said she would mention it to the vet but that her?suggestion was to
leave them alone.? Comments??
