It sounds to me that your new baby isn't properly socialized and is very
shy.
In the Files section of the group's home page is a .txt file called Dealing
With a Fearful.txt that I uploaded. The techniques in that are perfect for
working with an unsocialized, shy baby.
Give her a couple weeks to settle in, and then you might consider finding a
good obedience trainer. Obedience training can be wonderful for building
self-confidence in a dog. Be sure, however, that you find one who uses
positive reinforcement *only*. Until your baby understands that she can
earn rewards and be happy with you, scoldings and discipline are only going
to make her more shy.
