8 weeks old is not too young for a healthy pup to leave its mom. 90 percent of mine go at 8 weeks. Most chi breeders have a "go time" of 8 weeks....with exception made for realy tiny ones, or ones with any health concerns.....those stay longer...but for your average healthy chi pup, 8 weeks is a great time and is the average time.....
