They are way past nursing, momma is getting tired of them, and the older they are, the harder it is to adjust to a new home. You all do realise that 12 weeks is 3 months right??? I just let one go that was almost 5 months and it has just about killed me because I was attached, and I KNOW it has been much harder on him to adjust because he was attached. I just purchased another one that was 5, almost 6 months when I brought him home and it took a whole lot longer for him to adjust than a younger puppy would. It is not fair to a pup to keep it till it has come to know you as its person and your home as its home, and then yank it away and send it somewhere else. That is much more stressful on a pup than to let it get into a new home before it has developed attachments. After the last pup I bought and the last one I sold, I told my mom, never again......I will give one away for free before I keep it till it is that old......when they are younger, they don't "know" but as they get older, they start to experience feelings of abandonment, ect when they are taken from all they have ever known.
