when my little man had to have 15 teeth removed I was concerned also he had a sore throat from the tube they put in his little throat which caused him to have a cough which they gave me cough med for, but his little neck was bruised also, it didn't seem to bother him too much after a couple of days, ask your vet but this is just my experience with kinda of the same thing except for the spay. Hope it helps to ease your mind a little I know you worry about these little babies like you bore them yourself lol,

I also should tell you that i have watch them take the blood and it doesnt appear to hurt. Myself i have bloodwork down every two weeks most times it doesnt hurt.  sometimes i bruise  when it doesnt hurt.

As you all know, Katie was spayed and had 12 teeth pulled on the 30th.  Please look at these 2 pics and tell me why she has that bruise on her neck?!?!
