Hi
If I could knit I would make leg warmers for all 4 legs and feet. I can not
find doggie booties small enought for Ricky. He is so tiny around his legs, he
would need handmade just for him. I would like to see leg warmers that go
on the legs up over the shoulders down the other leg. this way they would stay
on. (one piece warmers) same with the back legs. I know they make pajamas, but
those are to big in the legs for Ricky.

how about THERMOS for dogs!!! Make them like the pajama's but thermo material.
I think I am going to order the pajamas for Ricky. At least it will be
something to keep his poor body and legs warm somewhat. Now if I could only
fine booties to fit...

Glad you mentioned leg warmers, I was thinking of putting on pj's under her
sweater, since they have legs. I haven't seen a full coat with legs yet, You
would think that some one would make some thing like that for the toy breeds. I
guess I am going to have to get booties too. Last year unknown to me they must
have put that liquid stuff on my walkway for the ice because when Princess and
I went out she was holding up her feet, one at a time, and would look up at me
with her ears pinned back. I knew something was wrong, so I checked her feet,
wiped them off and she was fine inside, but then when we stepped outside she
did the same thing.  So I carried her in (all 18 pounds, Lol) and washed her
feet off. It wasn't the ice because she was fine when I carried her to the
street. The next day I bought boots, which she manages to get off no matter
what I try. I really need boots that go higher up on her leg in order for them
to stay on. She now has two pairs
and neither one stays on her paws.

Here is vegas the temps are dipping in the low 30's at evening and night. I put
a sweatshirt/hoodie on Ricky and go. If its windy out, he does not like it at
all... kinda crouches down and then sits down... turns and heads for home. If
its not windy, he seems to be ok with going out doing the duty and then getting
back inside! I do have potty pads on my patio that he will use. so we may
resort to those when its cold.

I think the most important part to keep warm on a chi is the chest and round
the back, neck also. The sweatshirt hoodies work well for Ricky.

He needs some leg warmers!!! little tiny ones!

I would think you would know if it was too cold.  Good for your Gigi for being
an adventure pup.  Frida HATES the cold

My little Gigi just loves to go for walks, she worse then my Eskie, Princess,
with wanting to go out. The temps have dropped to the 40's and I was wondering
if I put a sweater and a coat on her would that be enough to prevent her from
getting chilled?  She has been inside for two weeks because of the cold and or
rainy weather.  I am concerned that she may catch a cold. With Princess, I only
put a coat on her once the temps reach freezing or below, even then she does
not like it.

So how cold is too cold for a Chi to be outside, even for a short 15 minute
walk? And how much do you have to bundle them up?
