I admit I am a bit squeamish about doing young puppies, so I don't. The
earliest I've ever had mine done was at 3 months of age--someone else did it
of course. I leave it up to the pet owners to do it if they want. All of
mine have been done (save a couple of co-owned dogs who still haven't had it
done). In most instances it is done at the time of their first health
clinic--usually eyes or hearts--where they are also doing microchipping.
