Okay to clarify...I am only referring to the USA situation in this post...
I have seen both dogs that complete in the different venues in the USA...I
even had my "Hands On" some of them...all have there strengths and
weaknesses...like apples and oranges in some cases...yes..there are some
true beauties in both venues!!! BUT there are many a pet being shown in
BOTH venues...
Some of the greatness of the golden years of the USA... those days of unity
is lost...Where is the Holy Terrors, Tartans, and Basils??? We do not see
them all in one place anymore...
Yes we have had some GREAT home grown stars since then...Ruben, Maetros,
Dizzy, Happy, Danny, James and of course Pete (who I adore) to name a few
...they made their mark!!! Have you seen these dogs in person??? AND you
discount them...some of them that completed in both venues... and did a
sweep of the old club before the split...some of the BEST breeders left the
old club...along with those homegrown bloodlines that had made from the best
of the world offerings!!!
These great dogs I have stated above are the great transitional dogs...that
first ACKCSC National had some of the most beautiful typy dogs I have
seen... a reflection of the golden years of unity!!! Everyone came out for
that show...what a kick off! Wow...They had the stamp of made in the USA...
It still takes my breath away remembering those "Incredible Home Grown
Boys"...structure, bone, large eyes, plush heads. and that incredible
movement...!!! Like being in a candy store...with so many choices and only
one dime to spend!!!
The great breeders do have homegrown stars coming up the rank...but you do
not see them all in one little state and/or region in the USA. There is not
any big social events occurring anymore. They may not be nationally rank due
to a person showing budget...or they may only go to local show due to work
or budget restrictions. They do not have to go to big social gala to
complete or gain approval...they may not come to a national or regional
show...
And yes when I see them...I do feel a catch in my breath...I love our new
homegrown boys...
The CKCSC-USA is the only cavalier organization that sponsor UNSANCTION
shows and also has VOTING pet members...this will create a basic
conflict...These shows do not have any validity anymore worldwide ...this is
a reality...so it is a nice social event...but lets call it like it is...BUT
it is folly to think you are seeing all of the best in the USA at these
shows...but it makes "good press"!!!
