Have your vet do a biopsy of the "ulcer" to see if it might be
Eosinophilic Granuloma. this condition is pretty rare in dogs but I
have had it in one Cavalier. The only way it can be diagnosed is by
biopsy. This is a condition mostly seen in cats, doesn't appear to be
painful or affect the dog in any other way, may or may not go away with
treatment, high incidence of return, not contagious, unclear whether it
may be hereditary.
