I am a newcomber to the Cavalier breed, and recently purchased an AKC
registered show prospect. I have been participating in AKC obedience and
conformation events for nearly 30 years. I understand that the original
CKCS parent club was opposed to joining the AKC. I even sympathize with
some of their reasons. However, in spite of their objections, the breed has
been officially recognized by the AKC for 6 years. So, as a new Cavalier
owner/exibitor that lives in So. California, I have two questions:
1. What does the CKCSCUSA have to offer that is better than or not provided
by the AKC?
2. Why would I want to register my puppy with the CKCSCUSA (instead of or
in addition to AKC registration).
