Carol, As a UK person who was at the Convention and has heard both sides of
the story on the cavalier lists, I have to tell you that Betty gave a very
fair and unbiased picture of this situation, and I would have been hard
put to know whose side (if any) she was on. Anyone who tells you otherwise
is misrepresenting her talk. Other USA visitors wanted to "argue the
toss", which I consider was very inappropriate for an INTERNATIONAL
Convention, and I regret that I did not have enough courage at the time to
stand up and say so.
