Dear List:
Has anyone had any experience with a puppy (now 14 weeks) that will nip and
growl. He is with 2 children 4 and 6. He does this unprovoked. He is
loving most the time, but has these moments. They took him to a behaviorist
here is what she said. "He wants to be boss of the house, a "social climber"
and a dog that cannot be around children without a lot of behavioral
training/consulting. She said that he is treatable but not curable. She said
that there are 18 traits of aggression and he is showing a
possessive aggressiveness behavior. She said his behavior is unusual for a
Cavalier and a 14 week old puppy.
My friends are devastated and are going to return the puppy. Any thoughts?
