The first think I would do is visit at the home for an hour or two and see
what the interplay between the children and the pup is. Some very outgoing
and energetic children can be too much for a little puppy just away from the
security of his indulgent mother and breeder. Some parents do not control the
behavior of their children with a new puppy. In these cases, I would suggest
that they wait until their children are older to add a puppy to their family.
Whatever the cause you determine, I'd give them their money back and observe
the pup at your home for a few weeks to see if it is the pup or the family
that is causing the undesirable behavior.
Good luck
