Yes, definitely a good idea for breeders to utilize these techniques when
possible. It is getting to be less and less desirable for people to ship
their bitches, but from what I can tell not as common yet for people to
utilize the chilled sperm for AIs.  I have heard a lot of talk about
different sexually transmitted diseases as well and there is a lot to be
said for protecting the boys as well.  AIs for local breeding and fresh
chilled sperm for shipping makes so much sense to me, but I know it can get
very costly if vets are involved on both ends.  I'm wondering if anyone has
had enough experience with it to correlate the size and viability of litters
with the use of shipped, chilled sperm, versus live breeding or local AIs?
