The book Born to Win by Patricia Craige is a good book to read for any breeder who is trying to get a grasp on the values of linebreeding, outcrosses etc. A basic genetics book can also be useful if you do not have a general understanding-sometimes the best is a collage text. None of this takes the place of experience, but it gives a good foundation to someone new to breeding.
