Some people must be making money..come on...get serious. If you can count you can figure it out...if you register 100 puppies a year..puppies that you either own or that you co-own. I have seen Cavaliers that look very much like the Grinch's little dog that their owners paid as much as $2000. I've heard the "tri colors are more expensive" story and subsequently been told they had to pay $3000. because tri's are so "rare".
This breed is, at the moment a "cash cow" . I believe the fact that it is not a "healthy" breed helps to keep the price up. I also believe the big prices are the main reason that breed type is disappearing. And the big prices are surely not making for healthier Cavaliers.
