I've only been in cavaliers for about five years. In that time, I have met
and talked to a breeder who was knowingly breeding a boy who had been unable
to get hip certification, and another one who was breeding a four year old
girl with MVD. She was paying for stud service and not having particular
problems finding a dog to use either. I've talked to two breeders about
using their boys and when pushed, they were unable to provide the hard copy
on heart clearance that they claimed they had. I know of a girl who has a
slipping patellae who has been bred to. I'm surprised that in the many
years that you have been breeding, you haven't met people who either don't
test or just keep on breeding the dog once it fails the tests. They sure
are out there, and I have a hard time believing that I am the only breeder
in the US who has met them. If you think that everyone is concerned about
health issues, go to the OFA data base someday and start looking up affixes.
