Winnie I am sorry but I totally take issue with your first paragraph - I wonder how many breeders you know? If what you have said were true I wonder why in my house I have the following dogs an 11,10,9,8,6, and five years old. I can tell you I am not alone in having pensioners and near pensioners, most of the people I know in Cavaliers have "oldies" Neither have I ever considered my dogs a business - the fact that I chose to breed them myself rather than purchase them makes them no less loved than if I had paid out pounds for them. They may have been or still are show dogs but first and foremost they are my pets and are considered as such by my family.
