Winnie you do many breeders a great disservice when you say this - please don't categorize people by labels such a "breeders" - people are people and among my friends I know that we DO keep our oldies - I have two 11 years olds, 1 10 year old and 1 9 year old at the moment - and for me it will be hard to keep living when those oldies die especially the 11 year olds. I have "invested my soul" as you so eloquently put it in these dogs. I still mourn dogs who died in my arms 20 years ago.
