HI,

I have to agree with Jeanie. Many of my breeding friends have their older
dogs, in fact most of them have their special oldies. My first cavalier is
still here and will always be here. She has MVD, freckles, is funny
looking and I love her. My dogs are my pets first and foremost..they live
in my house, share our beds and our lives.

I don't understand why people feel the need to differenciate between "pet"
people and "breeders". We are all "pet owners". Of course the majority
of breeders want to give their puppies the best opportunities for a healthy
future. I don't believe that breeders just breed and don't keep the older
dogs. For many of us, it is an extremely difficult decision to let a dog
that we have run on go to a new home....and I have to say that if a girl
has given me babies, they are here to stay with me. I have only once let
an older dog go and it was most painful for me. Her life is a wonderful
life now, where she is queen of her household...but it still hurts me to
see her. Breeders don't just dump their breeding/show stock when they are
thru with them. In fact, I think that very few breeders let their best
companions go ever. Of course we can't keep all of the dogs that we have
produced, even if we would love to....which is how the public gets to share
their lives with these sweet little dogs.

Just an opinion..
Kindest regards,
Kim
