When I first started in Cavaliers, I purposefully bought a pet for obedience
because I felt I didn't know enough about the breed to be sure someone was
selling me a show quality puppy. I KNEW I was going to show and eventually
breed, I just didn't trust myself enough to buy a show puppy right off the
bat. Once I had Lawmaker (born Jan.1976), I trained him in obedience and
started going to the Cavalier specialties to learn about the breed. I
studied and studied and there was no doubt about it. Every single dog I
liked was linebred on or went right back to Rosemullion. Something about
their level toplines, squarish bodies and nice eyes. So when I looked for
my first show puppy, that was what I looked for--and got.
