Hello List, A friend has a 13 month old Cavalier. About 2 weeks ago she started screaming in pain, gritting her teeth and shaking. An x-ray by her vet showed arthritis, very severe. Has anyone out there heard of such a young dog having this condition? The family is just devastated by the whole thing. They have tried cortisone shots and she is not getting better. I can't help but wonder if she has a virus that could cause this or something else could cause this.
Also what dose of Glucosame should he put her on. She weighs about 14 lbs. Any suggestions and or help will be greatly appreciated.
