I never heard of this until the last 3 years. Now I've heard from several people who purchased brokered dogs who have developed this condition at VERY young ages such as this. My guess is there may be an autoimmune component or in some cases, the possibility of malnutrition while mom was pregnant or when pups were small that contributed to the problem.
