Susan and List,

I was very lucky and didn't have to wait at all. Last summer when I decided
I was finally in a position to acquire a Cavalier, the first breeder I
visited (I was referred to this breeder by another who had no puppies
available at that time) had both the sire and dam of her puppies on the
premises and I liked very much their looks and type. The puppies were
healthy, active and very outgoing. After being in boxers for about 20 years,
I know that purchasing a puppy for show can be risky and the breeder was
very up front about this. However, I was looking for a companion for
obedince and agility also, so if he didn't achieve his CH, I could accept
that. So far, he as 1 point from the 6-9 class, so I hope he will develop
into CH material.

I have bred 6 litters of boxers over 15 years. I know how much work this
is, not to mention that it seems to take at least 5-10 years to get a real
handle on bloodlines, type, etc. Whelping, caring for puppies, finding
responsible buyers, taking back dogs when necessary, etc, all requires a
great deal of time and commitment, which I don't have. Since I don't want
to breed and I happen to prefer the male personality, I wanted a male
tricolor. No reason for the Tri preference, just like their looks. I also
like Black & Tans. Could be because I started in Dobies, then boxers.
