Well, now I'm really curious. Does the AKC accept DNA results that were done in a foreign country as a form of permanent ID? Surely, it can't be acceptable if done here since there would be no registration number on it if none had been granted prior to the DNA testing? Our DNA tests have the dogs AKC registration number as well as their registered owner's names. Also, for people who are looking at DNA testing as a form of ID....if your dog is running loose on the street, a microchip or a tatoo might be considerably faster as a means of ID than taking weeks to run a DNA test.
