I agree with you there is room for all our opinions  and just because some
do not agree with the lengths that others go to does not necessarily mean
that they are critical about them
As someone pointed out in an earlier post blood testing is done on humans so
why not on dogs as it is relatively inexpensive.
The fact is that blood testing here in the UK is not a routine procedure
when you visit your doctor
The fact that few vets have lab facilities on the premises so blood has to
sent away to a path lab (By snail mail in many cases!!) will explain in part
our thinking.
I have invested nearly 25 years of time in one of my bitch lines - however
should a problem crop up I would cull that line tomorrow whether I would
start off again at my age is debatable (VBG)
Mary Roslin Williams ( a well known Labrador breeder ) told me many years
ago that you breed for long enough and somewhere along the line however
careful you are every known fault will crop up at sometime or other - I
think what she said was very true
