We've finished three dogs with a professional handler. Trust me when I tell you, that seeing them finish with a pro at the other end of the lead gave me the same amount of pleasure as seeing one of them take Best puppy in Show at a COTW show, or consistently place in the top 2 at other COTW shows. If your dog is a nice dog, he can also be made to look like he isn't such a nice dog if he is moved too fast, not stacked nicely on the table, or if he can sense the owner-handler's frustration in the ring. Since there are no rules against using a professional handler, why don't we concentrate on the exhibitors (and in our area, the biggest offenders are owner/handler, NOT the pros) who DO break the rules by the bleaching, bluing and dying and trimming? Using a pro can often simply mean that the owner doesn't like handling. Myra Savant
