Hi Susan, I disagree. Many of my oldies have huge coat. Certainly not American Cocker coat but more than many pet people would want to deal with. I remember visiting Kindrum kennel and seeing many old dogs...most with huge coats. They were in lovely condition and all beautifully groomed..but, again, there are many pet owners who would rater do have a nice pet clip a few times a year than keep up with a lot of coat. Jo Ann
