Sheridan, I think Andy is a very nice dog and although I did not see his competition in the breed, well deserving of the win in my opinion. He did not look as trimmed, fluffed, and puffed, as many Cavaliers on pro handlers and for this I was greatful. He stood tail wagging true to the breed, again hooray!
I don't know Taffe so certainly can not comment on what kind of personal qualities she has good or bad. I do know that everyone I have talked to who has been in this breed a long time indicates that kneeling to show is a BIG NO NO. I have heard this from the president of the breed club and that judges are told in seminars to ask the handler to get off their knees. Based on that despite the upstanding wonderful person Taffe may be she is not properly representing the breed the way it was intended to be represented and especially in front of a national audiance this is a shame. I feel it is a disrespect that many pro handlers show for particulars of the breeds standard vs their desire to win. That is my opinion.
