I put Formica lanminate floor in my family room and couldn't be more pleased. It is pretty much indestructible and looks like great quality hardwood floors. Super easy to clean, just damp sponge mop it. We were used to wall to wall carpeting so it sounded rather hollow in the room with no rug so an area rug solved that problem. I do seem to see more dust not however because the dirt and dust that use to get absorbed into the carpeting now has no place to hide. We were going to get pergo but we were working with an interior decorator and she told us that pergo wasn't as waterproof. In fact, at the time, pergo had no guarantee if used in the bathroom and Formica did. Don't know if that is still true.
