Being a laminate it does not absorb sound like a natural fiber (wood). They actually dislike it so much - wanted it pulled up the next week :o) I believe a couple people on the list have said Wilsonart is a better alternative. I put tile down this past year (20" squares) and I absolutely love it. I also had my dog room (okay ....my kitchen :o) tiled up the walls to chair rail height and also tiled the windowsills. It has been fabulous.
