Yes, the theory is that the lower canines create little "holes" in the upper palate behind the upper canines that effectively "lock" the jaw in that position. By removing those lowers, you can "unlock" the jaw (in theory) so that the lower jaw can grow enough to avoid dental problems in the future. You're not talking about correcting a mouth in order to show it or breed it. You're only talking about correcting a mouth for the future health and well-being of the dog. Myra
