Got me thinking..One time I had a young horse who started to develope a jaw
problem and I called the vet and he was a straw chewer type. He told me to
run down and get 12-12?? or 12-12-12 at feed store it was a rusty looking
powder. He said they see that occasionally in horses when the hay is out of
balance the calcium phosphorous, something. Its been 20+ years since I was
breeding horses. I got it the jaw problem disappeared. He was going parroty
and had developed bone knots on the jaw. Might be worth a try if desperate.
It comes in 50 lb sacks only. I have more of a tendency to get undershots or
levels. Chere Workman
