Just another thought on this utility thing. I own several rental properties and the meter reader installed a radio device that they now just sit in their cars and point the thing at the house and this thing reads the meter somehow. You might ask if they can use such a device or better yet ask them when they will be installing one? If it is with in the year you might be able to save yourself the expense of moving the meter.
