I think one big difference is that the AKC allows pro handlers to show dogs in the national and my bet is soon most of the "contenders" for best in show at the national will be strung up nipped and clipped by a pro and just how many sponsor dollars are going around the ring when the specials enter at the AKC national? I would bet far more then round the ring at the CKCSC national. I think you find more multi-breed people show AKC then CKCSC though that is just a suspicion of mine I can't back it up with facts. I love to show AKC but I think the AKC with the dollars that change hands, financed campaigns, and pro handlers put more of an emphasis on winning at all cost and it is less of a sport and more of a business sometimes. I go to shows in both clubs and think the general atmosphere is very different at the shows of the different clubs. I like the fact that they are they both have things to offer. Having said that I still am appalled at the petty politics that prevent progress on issues "for the good of the breed" and think it will be some time before we can get the powers that be to stop thinking more in line with "for the good of the club" or letting private agendas influence decisions in a negative way.
