I guess it was in my impression of the judging and the comments of those seated at ringside with me. I remember feeling very similar to the Olympic ice skating pairs judging this last time where it was so obvious that the Canadians were tops. I was so struck by his choice of which dog was better that day that I was anxious to see how he explained it in the bulletin. The baiting comment in the critique was what slapped me in the face. I couldn't believe it. The winner that he chose is a great dog, but she was outstanding that day and beautifully shown. The ice skating analogy is the best one to describe my view of the judging. I want to state here that I showed no dogs that day nor were any shown that I had any link to. This was just my opinion of who was best and who should have won on the day. I found it ironic that he could overlook a gay tail (see comments of tail carried a little too high for the winner) and not the bait. BTW, there were several other dogs there that were superb as well. Now, I usually don't get into discussions of judging so I'll let this one drop. My normal stance is you pay for the judge's opinion, like it or lump it. All the best, Susan Cochran
