I'm going to jump into this thread with the opposite tale (hard to avoid a
pun there!). When we acquired our Paisley, we knew that, except for her
"perfectly shaped" paisley design smudge on her right cheek she was (and is)
a beautiful bitch puppy. We, however, were purchasing another pet, with the
impetus being a companion for Callie who's beloved cat friend had just moved
away with my daughter.
Meredith really tried to persuade us not to spay Paisley. She felt
that, even with the smudge, she could finish her. She also tried to
encourage us to consider breeding Paisley because she is so pretty and well
put together (among other things, she has a great topline and great gait).
Besides, she's got great lineage and another champion would help make
Meredith's Rosie O'Grady be able to be classified as a ROM (is that the
correct term?) -- not that she needed Paisley to accomplish this.
So, here are two people who had to convince the breeder that they did
NOT want to have an unspayed female in the house! <grn>.
