Hi Roseanne, What a great thing you have done for Gayle. You have a true generous spirit and a new "sister" for life.
On to flooring - Well as someone who has the same sort of deal going as you, the flooring part is easy but the cleaning their little feet as they come in is the kicker. What about sheet vinyl flooring with grass mats by both doors. The grass mats might control the stuff that they treck in. Several months ago the list had a good discussion about flooring and the benefits of several brands. I think that Formica, while expensive, seemed to be the best and when I checked into it they said that it sort of floats so it can be moved. Got me on the moving part though. Ceramic tile is nice on a screened porch also. Probably the same price as the Formica to install by the time you are done. I have used throw rugs by the doors but the puppies never make it outside in time and the rugs are forever in the wash! I am ready to replace my vinyl flooring so all suggestions are welcome. I am curious as to the response from the list since it could assist me as well. One side of our yard is patio blocks and we are adding sand and pea stone to the other side of the yard but in the meantime, the non-peastone side is, yuck... mud that ocassionally masquerades as a lawn by about August.
