I got the extra thick pad with the Wilsonart. It is *much* thicker than the regular pad, and the noise is not bad at all. It doesn't have that "clicking" sound that the laminate has with the regular pad. I'm only speaking for the Wilsonart extra thickness pad--don't know about the others.
