I agree, tile that isn't slippery, a color that hides dirt, somewhat close together with thin grout line, filled with DARK colored grout. Since my floor has to be concrete because it has in-slab radiant heating, I decided to use the concrete slab as my floor. I am making my concrete look like tiles. The concrete will have integral tint to a *dirty* beige color all the way through. They are charging me only a very nominal extra fee for the tint and saw cutting (my slab will barely cost more than a regular garage or house slab) so my flooring will be almost free. I am putting in the grout, a dark brown color, and sealing it with a low VOC concrete sealant. 1800 sq.ft. of *flooring* won't cost me even $1000! If I had a house already built I would use tile instead.
