Deborah, I know what you mean. Here is what I have been doing. I bought a small carryon (Delsey brand).....because it had the widest area across the top. I then put my purse inside the carryon with reading material for the flight and whatever else you want to have with you. The Sherpa Bag then fits right on top of the carryon and you can wheel it instead of carrying it. Works very well. Judi Geldermann
