Gerri - you are absolutely correct that this section - or similar wording -
has been in place for a long, long time. However, I never heard of anyone
prior to AKC recognition that was allowed to register a litter out of an
import unless that import was duly registered with the club. Furthermore I
was always told that a litter could not be registered until the parents
were duly registered with the CKCSC, USA. (Now, I am referring only to USA
resident imported bitches and dogs, not those imported in whelp or bred
across the Canadian-USA border.)

Reading the section of the By-Laws that you quoted, it does not specifyl
dog or bitch, so does this mean that as long as each parent is either an
import (from a recognized registry) or Club registered that the litter can
be registered with the CKCSC, USA?
