OK the way I understand this is : That if you had a dog or bitch whose dam
> and
> sire were CKCSC USA but was only registered AKC then this dog/bitch would
be
> eligible to be registered with CKCSC USA then that dog bitch could be used
> without violating the ethics code

Hi Linda,

No...that is incorrect. If the sire and dam of said dog were CKCSC
registered, then the litter could have been registered up until the puppies
were a year old. If the breeder choose not to register the litter before
they were a year old, then the litter can no longer be registered. I think
it is much the same in AKC after the litter reaches a year. We do not
register individual dogs born in the states.......only foreign dogs which
were not born in the states with the proper paperwork.

As for the other scenario, I am not sure what you mean, by buying a dog in
Missouri from an Eastern European Country? If the dog is an import, then
you would have to be listed as the owner of the dog on the registration
export certificate to register it with CKCSC, or the now current owner of
the dog would have had to have previously registered the dog with us and
then transferred the dog to you with the proper paperwork. Unfortunately,
someone (millers?) can go overseas and puchase an import (maybe not from the
best sources), provide the proper paperwork, pay double fees and register
their import with CKCSC. Again, I think that they could also register the
import with the proper documentation with the AKC.

Kind regards,
Kim
