Could you now breed your Cavalier bitch to any dog that sort of looked like a Cavalier and then register the pups? If not, then you already have someone telling you what you can do. I don't think the issue is dictating -- because if you're in good standing with any kennel club you already have rules that "dictate" what you can do. (The generic "you", Myra, not you personally.) So the issue isn't that no one wants rules, right? Just that there are some rules that some people don't want. So what are the rules (or lack of them) in the AKC that kept the CKCSC USA from affiliating originally? Why has the situation persisted? What does the CKCSC USA offer that has kept it going? How would a breeder (and the breed) be better off with ACKCSC? Or not?
